- Project descriptionSeven indigenous reservations of the Sikuani and Piapoco peoples make up this project located in Cumaribo, Vichada and Inírida, Guainía. Its name was assigned by the communities in reference to the tree of life, from which all fruits and food come from. KALIAWIRI REDD+ seeks to protect 358,065 hectares of forest and benefit more than 1,000 people belonging to the resguardos. Among its lines of action is the establishment of educational processes in forest governance, entrepreneurship, gender equality, rescue of ancestral cultural traditions and territorial demarcation, as well as reforestation, community monitoring and implementation of renewable energies and improvement of communications infrastructure, among others.
