- Project descriptionThe project restores and maintains the Sahelian woodland in the northern region of Burkina Faso in close collaboration with communities of farmers whose livelihoods are based on it. The project was part of the efforts undertaken by the Burkinabe government, local authorities, local communities and NGOs to combat desertification in the Sahel, to strengthen sustainable use of natural resources by pastoralists and farmers living in the Northern part of Burkina Faso. This specifically aimed to restore vegetation in areas used as grazing pasture by livestock farmers and agro-pastoralists. Project has been transferred to a local organization.
