- Project descriptionThe project hopes to reduce the rate of deforestation caused by traditional farming practices, extensive grazing and new roads projects near the concession area through strategic activities in the affected areas. The project aims to protect the different ecological systems found in the area and habitats of priority species for conservation, to help maintain the water balance in the basin high in the rio Mendoza which is the main tributary of the Huallaga River and provides environmental services to the population in the region San Martín. The project further promotes and strengthens mechanisms for participation to conservation and community development.
