Project description
The small-scale project consists of 515 ha reforestation under agroforestry system, belonging to 160 coffee producers distributed among 4 communal native areas of the 'Pichanaki', and 'Chanchamayo' districts. The project is directed to the voluntary markets. The project's objective is to introduce 13 tree shade species in the degraded coffee plantations. By doing so the soil nutrient balance and microclimate in the coffee systems will be restored, which will improve coffee productivity (sustainable!) and adapt the coffee farms for future climate changes.
