The Lachuá Carbon Project is a planned early REDD+ initiative around the Lake Lachuá National Park (Parque Nacional Laguna Lachuá; PNLL) in the North-West of Petén department. The proposed activities are: - providing alternative income generation activities; - sustainable forest management; - control and vigilance; - ecotourism. This would avoid emissions of 2,587,356 tonnes C02e over the 30-year project lifetime.
